Title: Final Preparations
Featuring: Tucker G. Alston
Date: 5/3/13
Location: Suburban Gym

Python:
Ready?

Python was standing across the ring from Tucker G. Alston.

Tucker G. Alston:
You sure this is going to work?

Python:
Yes. Of course. It’s the same move that I used to beat Chance.

Tucker G. Alston shrugs.

Tucker G. Alston:
Alright. I’ll give it a shot.

With that, Alston bounces off the ropes behind him and comes towards Python and jumps, but unfortunately it’s just not high enough and he collides into him. Python holds his ground and helps Alston back up off the mat.

Python:
Again. It’s not so much the speed as it is the height. Need to really pop off the mat.

Alston nods, and tries again. This time, Alston gets enough height, clearing Python’s shoulders with his legs. Unfortunately, the fluid motion needed to pull of the move was not there, requiring Python to catch Tucker before he fell on his head.  The act causes the two men to fall to the mat.

Python:
Almost. You can’t hesitate. You can’t think. It’s just got to come naturally. Here. I’ll show you.

This time, its Python that comes towards Alston, and in one fluid motion, takes Alston to the mat with a perfectly executed Hurricanrana.

Python:
See? Fluid motion.

Alston gets up a little slowly, rubbing his head a bit as he does.

Tucker G. Alston:
Got it.  Ok. One more try.

Alston charges Python and attempts the move for a third time. This time, he somewhat executes the move, taking Python to the mat.

Python:
Well that wasn’t the worst Hurricanrana I’ve seen.  But then again, you probably should have come with me to the NJPWS. One of the kids there could have taught you how to do this?

Alston give Python a shove as they both start to laugh.

Tucker G. Alston:
Four very different men. Coming from four very different worlds. All squaring off in a match with the same goal in mind. All working hard at accomplishing the same dream. The Southern Heritage Championship. All looking at becoming the premier up and coming talent here in DEFIANCE.

Alone, that would be a great story to tell. Alone, it would be a marquee matchup that anyone would be interested in watching. And yet, there is more to this story. These four men have already faced off against each other. They are already familiar with each other. They already have scores to settle. And it all comes to a head in this title match.

These four men, coming from four different worlds, has the ability to steal the night. In fact, I know we will steal the show. We will be what everyone will be talking about after the night is over. And the winner of this match will have become a brand new star in this business. A man that has put DEFIANCE on notice. A man that could very well be, the very best that DEFIANCE has to offer, and that includes those at the very top.

But who is going to be that big star? Who is going to be the Southern Heritage Champion at the end of the night?

Could it be Sam Turner Jr.? A man that I faced in my very first professional match. A man that I defeated in the middle of the ring. A man that I later tossed over the top rope and eliminated him, and his dream of becoming a champion. And I did that all in one night, almost within an hour of each other.

While no one can say if he’ll win the title or not, I can tell you one thing that is certain. Sam Turner will be a major threat to me in this match. After everything that happened on the night of Untouchable, Sam Turner is much more dangerous. He is a man that will be harder to defeat when I see him in the ring again.

Sam Turner knows me now. He knows what I’m about. He knows how hard I hit. He knows what to expect. And because of that, he’ll be harder to beat.  He’s the only man in this match, in the world, that has faced me one on one in the ring. He’s got a game plan. He’s got a feel for me. He’s motivated, and the one thing I know for sure, he’s gunning for me.

But I won’t let him. I can’t let him. The one thing that Turner won’t be thinking about in this match is the very reason why he won’t beat me, or anyone else, and why he won’t be champion at the end of the night. I’ve faced him. I’ve beaten him. I’ve thrown him over the ropes. I know I can beat him, I’ve done it before and I know how to do it again. I’ve got a game plan for him. I know how hard he hits, and I know that in the end, I’ll be getting up before he does.

Our second participant is much different than Sam Turner. He’s a guy that, unlike Turner, I don’t know if I can actually beat him. What I do know is that he has beaten me. He was the one that dropped kicked me in the face and sent me to the floor, and ultimately ended my dream of becoming a champion in my first night as a professional wrestler. He ended my shot at making history, at being in a club of only a handful of people to ever win a title in their very first night.

Lash Graham has gotten the best of me and I’ll be gunning for him. I have unfinished business with him and this is a perfect place to get my revenge. This is the perfect moment to get him back and show him the same exact pain that he gave me. To end his dream of being the Southern Heritage champion. He’s the man that I have in my sights. He’s the man that I’ll be coming after. If I get my revenge on him, then my night will be a success. If he’s the reason why I will become champion, then it’ll make it all that much better. I should have already been the Southern Heritage champion. I should be the one defending on this night, but because of Lash Graham, I am not. And for that sole reason he will pay.

Now, Lash may be a simple man. He may have simple needs, but I will not let that get in my way. I will not let it cloud my judgment. I will not underestimate Lash Graham just because he talks to toys, or likes the Muppets. I know better to let that be my downfall. Lash may be a simple man, but he is anything but when he gets into the ring. He knows his way around the ring; he knows it better than I do. That is what I will be focusing on when we get into that ring together. I will only care about his wrestling smarts. I will focus on his abilities in the ring, and in the end, I will get my revenge on him.

And then there is the man that has what everyone else wants. The Champion. And I use that term loosely. He’s the man that holds the title around his waist. He’s the man that outlasted everyone in the battle royal.  He’s the lucky one who got to hold the belt for just one show.

Chance, I want you to know something. I want to make sure you are aware, so that there are no surprises when we all get into the ring. You have a huge target on your back and everyone will be gunning for you. You’re the marked man that has what everyone wants. You’re the man to beat. And when someone is that hunted, they are usually caught.

Like I have said before. You are a very one dimensional person. You are reckless, cocky, unpredictable, self centered. You’re basically an asshole. But with all that, you are very beatable. You have very big flaws that will be easily exploitable. You are a very common man when you peel away that belt around your waist.

I’ve seen your type all throughout my life. I’ve made my living, my successes in life by exploiting people just like you. Whether it was on the field in high school, in the classroom in college, or on Wall Street, it didn’t matter. There were people like you. Very cocky people. And in the end, I was the one that excelled, I was the one that won. I was the one that succeeded. All because I was smart enough to let the cocky asshole self explode. I played their weaknesses against them and exposed them for exactly what there were. Assholes.

Now you can go out and continue to no sell who I am all you want. Quite frankly, there are a lot of people in DEFIANCE who don’t know who I am. And there’s a reason why. I’ve only been here a month. But I don’t buy that you’re one of the people that doesn’t know me. At least I hope so. I know you’re cocky, but to not even bother to learn who your opponents are, well that’s a fatal mistake.

But go ahead and say you don’t know me. I can promise you one thing. After our match, you WILL know who I am. I’ll be the man that took that title away from you, and raised that belt over your prone body in the middle of the ring. I know who you are. You’re the former Southern Heritage Champion.

You won’t give that title away. You’re too much of a reckless redneck to even consider it. I’d be foolish to think that would even be an option. No, you won’t let that title go. You’re not going to go down easy. I know this. We all know this. No, we’re going to have to give you everything we’ve got to try and take that title from you.  To become a champion, you only have to give your best for one match. You certainly did at Untouchable. But to be a great champion, you have to give it your best each and every night. Unfortunately for you Chance, you don’t have the character to do so.

I on the other hand. I just need to give it my best for one night. I just have to be the best in the world for this one night to take that title away. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do. And then I’m going to do it again. And again. And again. Each and every night that I’ll defend that title. I have the drive. I have the character to keep that title week after week, month after month. You may be a trivia question as to who held the Southern Heritage championship first after it was reinstated, but I will be the one that answers Eric Dane’s challenge. I will be the one that will be remembered as the man that defined what it takes to be a great Southern Heritage champion.

And it all starts with this match. With this win.

Failure is not an option.
