... we conclude with some DEFIANCE related news.

"Fair Play" Dabney Doubleday and his brother-manager Douglas’ “wrestler support organization” Wrestle House hosted a toy and canned food drive for the needy of DEF’s home city of New Orleans over the weekend. Lovable DEFIANCE Wrestling mainstays The Midcard Experiment trio (Walter Levy, Hijo del Fishman Deluxe and the masked enigma CAGE!) joined the beefy southern friend tag team of Jun Izuchi and Gordy Lovett (The MASSIVE Cowboys) and the Doubledays in collecting donations for three full days. The group of try-hard white-hats killed two birds with one stone, one one hand collecting donations for a good cause… and on the other? Well, the happened to host this little shindig across the street from “The Socialite” Edward White’s exclusive “Black Pelican Club” clearly still aiming to rankle the moody "billionaire."

Edward having taken time off from DEFIANCE after his and Money Talks’ less than spectacular showing against Dabney and his cowboy cohorts at DEFcon. In a press release from Ed’s office several weeks ago, White is on a “retreat” somewhere exclusive to “get his bearings and find himself” according to the brief via Ed’s right hand Jane Katze. One can make any number of assumptions about The Sophisticate’s motivations for this temporary hiatus, Doubleday inspired or not. The question on this reporter's mind is this. What does Ed’s business partner and friend, the perpetually moody Bronson Box, think about this sudden “retreat” by his closest compatriot?

As that ominous question hangs in the air, we know where a majority of Bronson’s attention is going currently as his war with Henry Yamazaki and Dan Ryan seems to only be heating up after his… “win”... at the last DEF PPV. Bronson’s utilization of he and Ed’s blue chip tag team of Money Talks (Adrian Payne and Felton Bigsby) to effectively neutralize Dan Ryan during the big three way, while successful in that respect had unintended consequences for Felton and Adrian. The very next DEFtv saw Ryan costing the Blood Diamonds largest tag team their chance at the ACE of Tag Teams tournament in their opening match against M4NTRA.

Money Talks and their mouthpiece the Hall of Fame former DEFtv colorman Angus Skaaland tried to get one over on Ryan on the last episode of DEFtv but the whole situation devolved into Dan, Bronson and Henry all coming to blows after Ryan took Skaalad’s bait and came out to address the trio after some prodding from the Motormouth. Boxer appeared and jumped Ryan, attempting to TOSS the legend off the upper level of the arena down to the unforgiving concrete below! Ryan was saved by Henry Yamazaki of all people… but even that gesture didn’t seem to clear the air between the two men. The raucous segment ending with a clearly frustrated Ryan attempting some bodily hard towards Money Talks before being broken up (finally) by officials.

In a rare chance for me to break some confirmed news here on the newsletter, I’ve gotten word from the Favoured Saints board that all parties involved will get a chance to “sort some things out” as for DEFtv we’ll be seeing Money Talks face off against the combustible combination of Henry Yamazaki and Dan Ryan in one whopper of a tag team contest… and to top it all off?

The Bombastic Bronson Box himself will be on commentary!

Speaking of Bronson Box, one last tidbit of tangentially related information. As most are potentially aware, DEFIANCE founder Eric Dane has recently founded a brand new wrestling promotion based in Alabama called Iron City Wrestling. A much smaller affair with a roster and associated school chock full of hungry young stars looking for a stage, any stage to make an impact. What the relationship, if there is any to speak of anymore, between the Wargod Bronson and the man who originally signed him to DEFIANCE after the very first show the promotion ever held is currently a mystery. Never on the best of terms… but the fact Bronson’s still quite loyal manager Angus Skaaland has seemingly made nice-ish with Dane is a point of definite interest.

But that’s not what I was driving at. The MOST interesting bit of tangentially related information is this… a violent young brawler going by the name of Duchess Vaughn has been making the rounds with ICW and DEF’s BRAZEN brand both. This young lady, according to my sources, has a pretty fascinating lineage. One that will prove another interesting piece of the ongoing puzzle IRT Dane, Skaaland, Box and ICW.

Apparently young Duchess is the niece of BRONSON BOX HIMSELF.

Where do all these parties stand with one another?

When will we ever see Ed and Bronson back together in a DEFIANCE ring?

Will Dabney and Douglas Doubleday ever get a modicum of revenge against Ed, Box and the Diamonds for the assault on Dougie’s person at DEFcon?

Can Yamazaki and Ryan coexist against one of the most dangerous tag teams DEF has ever seen in Money Talks?

This reporter is keeping one ear to the ground for you, dear reader.

Keep your eyes glued here for more in the coming weeks and months ahead.
