Title: Pay it Forward
Featuring: Edward White
Date: 9/13/12
Location: St Joseph Medical Center
[In a stark white room, light flooding in by a large window, Edward White looks over the city of Houston. Hector Perez slept in a hospital bed, a halo neck brace mounted to his chest and head, stabilizing his neck. On the outside, Nicky Corrozzo sat outside, standing guard.]
"It makes me sick. Truly sick that things had come to this."
[Edward shook his head as he turned around to look into the camera. His eyes weren't bright with business plans, they weren't glowing with plans of revenge, they were subdued, just holes in his face.]
"War Games caused a great deal of causalities. It was a cost of doing business, each and every active participant knew what they were getting into and the risks involved.
"But that man over there, a man with nothing to gain suffered the worse. He had no allure of points, glory, fame or any of the motivations for a pro-wrestler. Hector Perez was a man who was doing his job, a job that has it's hazards but nothing of that caliber.
"Despite my political and economic leaning, I made a promise to Mr. Perez. I would pay and protect him as long as he protected and looked out for my best interests. His family overseas will be compensated. His medical bills will be paid. I will make sure that he is healthier than he was before. Because I have failed him."
[White looks over to Hector, medical equipment around him, supplying vitals on screens. He sighs and looks back to the camera.]
"This failure was caused by the actions of Defiance. They invited Sylo, they allowed him to enter our sanctioned match and act illegally. Yet no one is calling foul except for me. This is absolutely disgusting.
"You would think men of good standing and character would at least lament over the injustices done. But instead, Christian Light makes a mere mockery of the situation. He threatens me claiming what he'll do to me is worse than what Hector Perez has endured.
"Look at him. He is in a medically induced coma due to the injuries sustained."
[He crosses his arms, furrows his brows and squints his eyes.]
"Christian, you are a company man. And you belong to a company that first betrayed me then added insult to injury by crippling a man that was essential to my business.
"I don't dare you, I invite you to bring those threats to reality. The pain you felt when we took Claira St Sure to hell and back, the rattles and nausea you endured from the concussion I gave you is NOTHING compared to the sorrow, heartache and emotional drain I've had. Whatever you have, whatever hate that is building inside of you -- I can match ten-fold.
"And the revenge Claira has planned. It's moot."
[He crosses to the room to look over Hector.]
"She knew what she was getting into. It was implied with the match. Blood would be guaranteed and it was delivered in gallons. Everyone in that match pitched in, some was just a little more rich than others.
"To beg the question, did you really expect me to be a team player? Did you really expect me to actually help Cito and Dane? Men that humiliated me, men that disregarded me for an old has-been. They forgot, Edward White not only has money, he IS money.
"Defiance Wrestling isn't an empire I wish to control, own or even invest in. It's pocket change. Everything about this federation is something I could do better on my own. The lights, the arenas, the formatting. What is my gain in helping those who do not want to be helped?
"Nothing. I gain nothing from that plan.
"My betrayal was a logical extension of business. And I was in the right in each and every decision I made. If I had stayed on your team, Defiance would have still allowed Sylo to enter the match. I would still be the victim of foul play – and you two would turn a blind eye.”
[Edward turns back to the window, resting his hand on the window sill.]
"Neither of you will understand. And I don't want you to either. Your ignorance makes this even better.
"... I will pay this damage forward.
"And it will be paid in full."
