Title: Soul
Featuring: Claira St. Sure
Date: 9/15/12
Location: .
[Claira St. Sure is assuredly receiving wrestling instruction from Kai Scott and the best trainers his system of contacts could obtain, but that’s another story. While allowing videographers to sit in on some of Claira’s training sessions improves her credibility in the eyes of some, it’s not good to give away the secrets of your strategy against someone the caliber of Edward White.]
[So, Claira and Kai aren’t here now, which means.]
[Fade up to Diane Parker.]
Diane:
Kai Scott respects Edward White’s capabilities in the ring. That should be clear by now. Right now, he’s doing everything to get Claira ready for the playoffs, to wrestle twice in one night against top caliber opponents.
No benefit in pretending he’s not taking this seriously, and no time for threats, no matter how much they’re deserved.
[She takes a deep breath.]
Diane:
Listen to me, Edward.
I’m not going to talk to you about morality. The few times you wrestlers have seen fit to remember that I exist, it’s always come back to what a good girl like Diane Parker is doing hanging around with that awful Kai Scott and those evil Truly Untouchables.
I’m going to talk to you about consequences.
Christian Light… he blames himself for allowing you into a position where you could do so much damage to Heritage. It’s personal to him, Edward. He wants to hurt you. One of the best of all time, a multi-time World Champion from THREE different interfeds, wants to hurt you.
But you might not get that far.
[Another deep breath.]
Diane:
Because, no matter how deeply you betrayed Christian Light, he wasn’t the one who felt the effects of your betrayal directly.
That was Claira St. Sure.
Over the last four years since I first joined the Truly Untouchables, Claira’s become my best friend. We train together, share motel rooms when we’re on the road, and hang out together on the rare occasions we aren’t busy with wrestling.
And I had to stand there and watch while you and Alceo Dentari made a cold blooded, deliberate attempt on her career.
[She closes her eyes.]
Diane:
And it wouldn’t have cost you anything that you couldn’t cover with a single check.
[She trails off, long enough to create dead air.]
Diane:
I don’t know what would have happened if Sam Turner hadn’t decided enough was enough, but I know what could have happened.
After spending her entire life learning how to fight, Claira could have been injured to the point that she never fought again.
Instead of watching movies in the theater, I could have been watching them while sitting next to her hospital bed.
And you call that the cost of the game. A necessary expense.
We’re going to make you pay for it, Edward.
[Her breathing grows heavier.]
Diane:
Because what you could have done didn’t happen, Edward. And now, Claira doesn’t need anyone’s help to do things to your joints that all the time and money in the world can’t fully cure.
And your life of privilege and luxury won’t be quite so enjoyable when you have to enjoy it from a motorized wheelchair.
And being fed peeled grapes by well paid servants won’t be quite so fun because you literally need the servants to peel the grapes for you.
[Another pause.]
Diane:
Christian Light wants you incapacitated.
But Christian Light is a good guy.
The Truly Untouchables are not good guys.
Claira St. Sure was not brought up in this game to be a good guy.
I feel no compunction against doing horrible things to people who hurt my friends and family.
And Kai Scott?
[Diane smiles coldly.]
Diane:
He will rape your very soul.
