Title: Someone took a bullet
Featuring: Claira St. Sure
Date: .
Location: .
Luckily for Diane, Mike Sloan had gotten to the ring before Heidi had had a chance to do much damage to her.
At the time, not sure how badly she was hurt, she rolled out of the ring to lie on the ringside mats, and then, worried that Heidi might decide to finish the job, rolled under the ring.
The feeling in her arms was normal, none of her fingers were numb, and she sat up and leaned against a stack of tables.
Then, for a horrible moment, she wondered if this was just her getting what she deserved for selling out to a monster like Kai Scott.
But his desire to help the Truly Untouchables had seemed so genuine… he’d spent hours negotiating contracts, paying for their training and… up until now, as good a coach as Cito Conarri had ever been.
Maybe better.
He helped a whole lot more in getting her work, and he didn’t charge as much for training.
But now…
A feminine voice, snarling in rage, interrupted her thoughts. There was a thump almost right above her head. Limbs scrabbled at the mat, and a bellow of rage slowly changed into a scream of agony.
Diane hugged her arms to her sides.
Someone else was taking the bullet for her.
“I am not afraid of Heidi Christenson.” Claira insisted. “I have beaten everyone in Defiance except for Christian Light.”
“Well, Kai didn’t tell us what happened and Heidi tried to kill me. I think it’s safe to assume that whatever he has planned, we’re not part of it.”
“Then maybe that means if Light does not beat Jeff Andrews for the World Title, I can claim a shot at it.”
“Are you crazy?!” Diane yelled. “Did you see what they did to Tom Sawyer? Did you see what happened to Sloan?”
Claira took her right fist in her left hand and squeezed it. Her knuckles cracked. Then she said “I’m not quitting Defiance.”
Diane tilted her neck to the left, then the right. There was only a bit of lingering soreness. She’d escaped injury.
“Well, if you’re staying, I’m staying too.” She sighed. “I wish there was something I could do for Mike. Even if I didn’t know him, he tried to help me and Heidi ruined his life for it.”
“If she tries to hurt you again…” Claira almost growled, “I will hurt her twice as badly.”
[Disengage the promografier.]
[Engage the smacktalkulator.]
[Claira still isn’t much for talking, and so with Kai Scott no longer involved, Diane’s going to do the talking for them.]
[So Claira sits, working very hard at looking like a badass chick who takes names, kicks asses, and doesn’t afraid of everybody. Her fists are wrapped in white cloth, her hair is dreadlocked and tied in a knot on top of her head. She’s wearing low rise shorts to better show off her abs. Cos apparently guys like them. Maybe it’s a supply and demand thing.]
[Or maybe they just never read her bio and assume she’s got big tits like every other female in wrestling, ever, ever, evar.]
[Diane’s wearing a black T-shirt and black leather pants. The T-shirt’s a prototype for an eventual logo for Claira. It features her pale blue eyes and wrapped fists, and probably has text on it that says something.]
Diane:
Sam, before we even get started, I’ve got something to say. Claira and I, we haven’t forgotten what you did at War Games. And we’re both very grateful.
If there were more guys like you in the business, maybe this mess with The Untouchables wouldn’t have happened.
Maybe Claira and I wouldn’t have needed Kai in the first place.
But listen, Sam.
Claira’s a pro wrestler.
She doesn’t fancy you, and she’ll be very offended if you let her win. For any reason.
I’ve seen you wrestle. I know you’re crazy strong. So does she.
But I doubt you’re much stronger than Christian Light, and she handled him.
Did you watch their match on Heritage 08, Sam?
Claira tried to keep it clean with Light. She went way out of her way to avoid hurting his arm. Instead, she ended up giving him a concussion.
Yes, Christian went on to win the match, but don’t take that to mean that Claira isn’t real dangerous inside the ring.
And for the love of god, if she gets you in an armlock you can’t break, tap. Just like she’ll tap if you get the bearhug applied.
This match is important, but you’ll both have to fight other important matches against much meaner people.
And yet, she’s going to try very hard to win.
Be careful, Sam.
