Featuring: Tucker G. Alston

Tucker G. Alston:
… Hey Python? It’s Tucker G. Alston… We met before the battle royal at Untouchable… Tucker… Yea. Yea. That was me... Yea. So I wanted to ask for your help with my match… Yea, I saw you had one too… I understand… Yea, I get that… Well I mean I have to face CVC… … …
Tucker starts laughing.
Tucker G. Alston:
Hahaha. Wow. You got me good there… Yea… Ok cool…. Sure I can meet up then… Awesome. I’ll see you there… Later.
Tucker hangs up the phone and drops it down on his white towel. He is in his usual gym. Already covered in sweat from his earlier workout, Tucker moves back to the bench, gets on and lies back to continue his workout.
A DEFIANCE backdrop. Standing in front of it is Tucker G. Alston, dressed in his wrestling trunks and a brand new navy blue shirt with the words “NCAA National Champions Yale” on the front with a logo of the Frozen Four tournament centered squarely in the middle of the shirt.
Tucker G. Alston:
It takes a lot to become a champion. It takes a lot of hard work, sweat, tears, blood. It takes a lot of luck. You have to be the very best in the world, if only for one night, to become a champion. Everything that you have worked hard for has to fall into place in the exact right way for one to become a champion. It certainly did for Chance Von Crank at Untouchable.
He won the Southern Heritage Championship in a battle royal match. A perfect example of what is needed to become a champion. He worked his ass off. He was smart. And he was lucky. He had moments where everyone in the arena and those watching at home thought he would be eliminated. And he survived. Every piece fell into place at the right time.
But there is one thing that CVC is missing. There is one thing about a champion that he doesn’t possess. Character. He is not a man built to be a champion. He is not a man that deserves to be champion. He is not a role model. He is not someone that will inspire, or motivate someone. He lacks character.
Anyone can become a champion. It was proven at Untouchable. CVC became a champion there. But it takes a whole lot more to stay champion. And that is where CVC will fail. He lacks what it takes to stay champion over a period of time. He lacks what it takes to even hold that title through his first defense.
A match against three very hungry men. A match where he doesn’t even have to lose to have that title taken from him and put around someone else’s waist. It is a very hard match for the champion to win, and it takes everything that he has in him to do so. Unfortunately, Chance just don’t have it in him to do so.
Character. Perseverance. Humility. Patience. All of these traits are things that Chance Von Crank does not have. It’s what he’s missing. It’s what makes him the one dimension person that he is. It’s why when you really look at him, you do not see a champion. And ultimately, it will be his downfall in this match against Sam Turner, Lash Graham, and myself.
Now, there is someone in this match that does have the traits of a champion. Each and every one of them. Much like my fine brothers that won their national championship one a couple of weeks ago, I have these traits. I am a proven champion. I have done so on every aspect of my life. And now, I get my second shot at proving that in the ring, for the Southern Heritage championship.
All my life, I have been defined by these traits. I have earned the respect of my peers. I had earned their admiration. Throughout the great moments of my life, I have needed these traits to excel and push myself through the challenges in front of me. And I did. My life has been built around these traits. They are who I am.
This match among the four of us is just the proving ground for me to show the world what type of champion I truly am. It is where I will get to show not only the three of you, but everyone else in DEFIANCE, just exactly who Tucker G. Alston is and what he is all about. It is the match that will define me. It is the match that will finally define a champion, the Southern Heritage champion. It will be the start of a beautiful championship.
Eric Dane has sent out a challenge, one that I eagerly accept. He came out and said that this title will be about endurance. It will be about perseverance, character, humility. It will be a title defended week in and week out. To show off the best of the best that DEFIANCE has to offer. It is a stepping stone to become the greatest of all time.
That is a challenge I crave. That is a challenge that fuels me. I am here for that very reason. To prove week in and week out that I am the best DEFIANCE has to offer. I want that challenge. I want to go out each and every week and defend this title. I want to make it great.
It is a large challenge. No simple man can overcome it. No simple man can step up and achieve greatness. While this title can certainly be taken in any given night, but someone who is lucky, it will take a great man, a champion to hold on to it.
And that I why I am in this match.
Failure is not an option.
And yes, Chance, I was prom king.
