Title: Pieces
Featuring: BIGBOSS Batts
Date: 12/3/20
Location: Who Knows?
One empty chair.
One empty room.
Footsteps.
Then… a familiar face now walking out from the darkness. The man occupies the chair.
His name?
“Bantam” Ryan Batts.
Ryan Batts:
Uh… hi. I’m Ryan Batts. Bantam. I’ve heard the name “Scrappy Wrestle-Lad” being thrown around on commentary, too. That’s cool. But what am I here to talk about?
He ponders.
Ryan Batts:
Well… in the year 2020, things haven’t necessarily gone the way that I want them. We lsot a match to the Fuse Bros 360 and because of that, The WrestleFriends were supposed to go to BRAZEN…

DDK: [depressed]
I don’t believe this. Goodbye WrestleFriends.
♫ "Boss Theme" from Snake’s Revenge ♫
Conor rolls over on his back and smiles from ear to ear as the energy is sucked out of the arena. Tyler, on the other hand is finally on a knee.
Darren Quimbey:
The winners of this match… Tyler and Conor Fuse, Fuse Bros. 360!!
Their new evil theme song plays as Conor moves towards his brother. It takes time but soon Tyler and Conor emerge in the middle of the ring, get to their feet and hug it out. Conor is obnoxiously smiling through and through while Tyler is full of rage.
Angus:
DREAMS DO COME TRUE IN DEFIANCE!! WRESTLEDORKS ARE DONE! FINITO!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU BROS.!!!
-------
Ryan Batts:
At that point, Jack Mace and I went our separate ways. He’s holding it down in BRAZEN and was a BRAZEN Champion? Me? Oscar helped me get re-signed to the main roster. How has that gone?
He can’t help but let out a disappointed sigh.
Ryan Batts:
Well, I’ve done lots of stuff with Oscar… we’ve won our share of tag team matches… we fought for the Unified Tag Team Titles…

Lance:
And Minute is heading to the ropes…
Minute measures his target…
Lance:
Minute Detail! What an incredible Springboard 450 Splash!
DDK:
HE GOT ALL OF IT! THAT HAS TO BE IT!
Minute DRIVES his whole body into the chest of Burns and then sits on his chest as he holds a leg back on the former two-time FIST…
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
The leg of Burns falls as Batts is kept from getting in by Uriel Cortez! Batts’ jaw drops to the floor as Thomas and Junior Keeling celebrate at ringside, hugging each other in triumph.
Darren Quimbey:
HERE ARE YOUR WINNERS AND STILL THE UNIFIED TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS… THE SKY HIGH TITANS!
-------
Ryan Batts:
And there was that time I got to be on pay-per-view… though, not exactly how *I* wanted it to go down…
-------
ACTS OF DEFIANCE 2020: THE LUCKY SEVENS VERSUS THE PCPS
“Bantam” Ryan Batts.
They are all painted in the face like tigers. Ryan definitely doesn’t want to be there.
The camera cuts over to Ryan Batts.
Max Luck:
The little guy is Oscar Burns’s friend isn’t he?
Ryan Batts:
...I just wanted to be on this Pay-Per-View! They said I would wrestle!
Elise Ares:
Yes, with your ego Ryan! There are no small parts.
-------
Ryan Batts:
I’ve heard it all since I’ve come back to the main roster. Burns’ friend. Little guy. Little buddy. Hey, Ryan, can’t see you standing in Oscar’s shadow. When do YOU get to wrestle on something other than UNCUT? Well… it’s not like I haven’t had opportunities…

August 12th, 2020
Troy rolls over onto her side and now Batts can’t believe it, but he tries his damndest to stay on the Queen and not give her a chance to fight back… but when he tries to pick her up from her head, he gets WALLOPED with a huge kick from Troy from the ground! Hurriedly, the Queen gets back on her feet and CRACKS Batts upside the head this time with an even louder kick! With Batts groggy on his feet, Lindsay hits the ropes again. She leaps and latches onto his back, using her momentum to drive them both down to the canvas, Ryan’s head and neck taking the brunt of the force! She holds down for the pin.
DDK:
By Royal Decree! That’s it!
ONE!
TWO!

DING DING DING!
Darren Quimbey:
Your winner of this match...LINDSAY TROY!

Ryan Batts:

This is over, Keebs!
ONE!

DING DING DING
Darren Quimbey:
The winner of the match by pinfall… “THE NATURAL ONE” JAAAAAAAAAY HAAAAAARVEEYYYYY!
The crowd is all cheers as Harvey gets his hand raised in victory. Again we head into the back where Ames is still watching but now giddy as Jay Harvey stands tall in the squared circle. She turns and is all smiles as she exits. We go back to the ring where Ryan Batts is up and the two share words.
Ryan Batts:
Then that one time where I came CLOSE. As close as…
He holds out his left index and thumb, almost no air between them.
Ryan Batts:
This.

SEPTEMBER 23RD, 2020
Clips of Batts having The Fastest Armbar in the West on Gage Blackwood when he was the Southern Heritage Champion, then the heart-breaking conclusion of the match.
DDK:
GAELIC STORM!
Blackwood falls on top of Batts with the cover but can’t hook a leg, due to tending to his right arm.
Gage Blackwood: [muttering]
Kick outta this, ya stupid baw juggler…

Back to Ryan Batts.
Now with a soft chuckle.
Ryan Batts:
So what do you do when you come close, but can’t quite get there? Do you give up? Do you feel sorry for yourself? Cry in a corner? Go bacd
He looks up.
Ryan Batts:
You pick up the pieces.
Clips show his match with Lindsay Troy, pelting him with her signature vicious kicks. Then Batts in a kickboxing gym back in mid-August, throwing kicks at a kicking pad, clearly looking to expand on his current repertoire.
Ryan Batts:
Better yet… you take pieces. You take things that you’ve learned. Those pieces from those experiences you went through and you make yourself better one day at a time.
Batts with more kicks, mid-November. Aim getting better, kicks thrown with more precision. A shot of Jay Harvey’s lethal Wake Up Call knee strike…then Gage Blackwood’s Gaelic storm…
Then a snippet of a scene from a recent match with Aleczander The Great on UNCUT…
Batts lands on his feet behind Aleczander then goes at the leg with a big chop block! The blow brings Aleczander to a knee and then the running flying knee strike by Batts off the ropes brings him down to the mat!
DDK:
Wow, new move by Batts! Almost a little bit, but not quite Gage Blackwood’s Gaelic Storm! Taking something away from that big match he had with him, maybe?
Ryan Batts:
You build yourself up a little at a time. Some just get it and find success. Some just have to put in more of the work to get there. And if the latter is my lot in life, that’s fine. I’m ready to do it.
Batts throwing around a training weight in the gym, then sparring with BRAZEN’s “Mellow Yellow” George Othello, tossing him about with suplexes…
Ryan Batts:
I’ve spent a lot of time picking up the pieces. I’ve been working hard on UNCUT, working on new things, bettering myself.
Submission victories over Gunther Adler… Kazuo Akamatsu… and Aleczander The Great.
Ryan Batts:
Back when I fought Jay Harvey? He told me to WAKE THE HELL UP. At tha time, I didn't know what he meant... but these last few months that I've been taking bits and pieces here and there to better myself in that ring... one day, it just clicked. I know the answer now. I’m not just Oscar Burns’ friend and protege. I’m not hiding in shadows. I'm not playing with facepaint, and I am way more than just a world of potential unrealized.
He stands up from his seat.
Ryan Batts:
... and soon, I’ll show you and I’ll show everybody else just that.
Black.
