Teresa’s busy body is on full display as she scurries around her small one bedroom apartment. Mathias, on the other hand, sits in his easy chair. He can’t help but look concerned which surprisingly has nothing to do with Teresa’s frantic pace. He just sits there and gently taps on the cover of his notebook. Teresa finally finishes gathering her things before locating her purse at the foot of the door. She glances back at Mathias.

Teresa:
You have a good rest of your day, yeah? I’m working the late shift at the bookstore and then I’m meeting up with Jocelyne so feel free to help yourself to the leftovers in the fridge for dinner.

Mathias nods. Teresa hesitates.

Teresa:
Is something the matter?

Mathias is quick to respond sharply.

Mathias:
No, dear. Carry on. I love you.

His voice sounds rather flat but Teresa trusts him so she grabs her purse and exits the home. Mathias ceases his tapping. He takes a moment before getting up and opening the very same door his wife just left from to find a vibrantly attractive woman standing there.

Mathias:
Hello, love.

Mathias adorns the woman who clearly isn’t his wife. She smiles and enters.

Sara:
Hey you, thanks for having me over. My day at the hospital was super stressful. Looking forward to some fun with you though.

Sara lets herself in as it’s clear she went home to shower and change before coming over.

Mathias:
Right. Let’s get at it then, shall we? But this must be the last time. I feel guilty doing this to Teresa, I really do. She’s done nothing to deserve this.

The door to the apartment closes and whatever takes place next happens to unseen eyes.
