After a hellacious Last Man Standing match against his former tag team partner Mushigihara, "Jersey Devil" Troy Matthews will not be appearing on the first installment of DEFIANCE's Homecoming tour in Atlantic City.
"As much as it pains me to not be wrestling in Atlantic City," Troy wrote in an official statement to DEFIANCE fans, "the truth of the matter is, I lost a LOT of blood in Toronto, especially since I had my face sliced open by the big man [Mushigihara] and that cane-sword, and even though I won, I started passing out as soon as I got backstage after the match. I couldn't even drive to my hotel, or else I'd have fallen asleep at the wheel, I was so drained."
Troy assures that his absence will be restricted to one card.
"I would love nothing more than to do what I do best in front of a crowd of fans on the sacred soil of New Jersey, but the doctors said I need to take a long rest and get my energy back. But believe me, once I get back to full strength, I WILL show the world that what happened in Canada was anything but a fluke."
