Title: Mind, Body & Soul...(part 3)
Featuring: Sam Horry
Date: same day...seriously it was a long day.
Location: New York, NY

Last Week.

It wasn't supposed to happen like this.

Especially not after all the hype and speculation; after all the intrigue and hype.  When you factor in the advertising time, and public workouts, and press releases; it should've been impossible.

But it happened.

Sam lost.

That it was to one of Defiance's leading contenders did not cushion the reality.  Sure, a case could be made that it was Sam's first ever wrestling match, and even be spun into nerves clouding his judgement.

But she wouldn't accept that.

"Video camera this week, got it.  I'll be looking for it."  She opened the door.

Politely closing the door to Jeff's office, Jeanie stormed down the corridor leading to the locker rooms.  Her pointed heel Jimmy Choos dug into the linoleum like an icepick from a sculpter.

Mostly everyone had left, save for the local enhancement talent.  One of which were sitting with Sam as Hurricane Jeanie approached.

"Don't sweat it bro."  The 'jobber' told him.  "At least you were on t.v.  Maybe you could put in a good word for me with...."

Jeanie's hot glare cut him short.

"...I guess I'll leave you two alone."  He nervously smiled.

When he left, she had him all to herself.  "What the hell was that out there?!  You didn't do anything you and Matt trained to do!  You're better than this!"

"I know, Jeanie.  Cancer was that good.  I was just..."  Sam began explaining.

"Do I really have to remind you just exactly what's on the line here?"  She pressed her hands on her hips.  "If you don't start winning, we get cut, and then where are we gonna go?  Back to Brazil?  And you're talking to jobbers now?!"

"His name is Archie, he's a nice guy.  Been in the business a few years..."

"...#&%@! Archie, Sam!"  She thundered.  "Get your head into the game!  Jeff says he's gonna text you your next opponent this week.  We need better results!  This is unacceptable."

Sam stood to his feet slinging his duffel bag over his shoulder.

"I'm sorry, Jeanie."  He stated coldly, looking into her eyes.

"What're you apologizing to me, for?"  She folded her arms.  "It's your career."

"Funny, cause it doesn't feel like it."  Sam opened the door to let himself out.  "You're startin' to sound alot like the people you wanna stay away from."

The door closed.

Alone in the locker room Jeanie exhaled. "How could I sound like them?  I actually believe in you."

Today.

Jeanie's red Audi tt 2012, weaved in and out of the late Manhattan traffic.  Next to her was a video camera that was FedEx'd to her.  An earlier conversation with Jeff Andrews had instructed her how and for what it was to be used for.

She's just coming from a workout of her own.  Her assistant, Debra helped.

Jeanie, now clad in a opened valour jacket, matching valour yoga pants and white tanktop had opened Sam's door, and slowly backed in, making sure to take excellent care of the camera.

"Sam, I just got this from Jeff today.  He says that we're supposed to film vignettes, promos, and I was thinking we could do..."

Jeanie was shocked to see a familiar figure in a white bathrobe, with her foot planted firmly on her client's chest.

"...one....tonight?"

"Hello, Jeanie."  She said, with a smile bright enough to light Broadway.  "Long time no see, eh?"

"Gabriella?"  Jeanie placed the camera on a nearby table.

"*Sim."  Gabriella nodded with her hands on her hips. "I was just telling Sam the good news.  Tell Matt, we do not need him anymore.  Mama's here.  Just like old times!"

(*Yes*--Portuguese)

Jeanie's took a deep breath before mumbling to herself...

"...Oh $#&!"
