UNCUT 117 EXCLUSIVE

Coming through the curtains after another win in the Oscar Burns Dig Down Deep Challenge, the keeper of DEFIANCE’s Golden Shovel, DEFIANCE Himself, Oscar Burns walks up, drenched in sweat, but with a smile on his face and said the aforementioned Golden Shovel slung over his shoulder. As he walks through, he gets stopped by Jamie Sawyers. 

Jamie Sawyers:
Oscar Burns… a word?

A giddy Burns approaches Jamie and holds his open arm out. 

Oscar Burns:
Jamie, Jamie, Jamie. You caught me in a good mood, GC, and I’m happy to answer any questions you have. 

Jamie nods at the two-time former FIST. 

Jamie Sawyers:
Congratulations on your sixth consecutive win in your Dig Down Deep Challenges. Titaness looked like she gave you a run for your money for a mom…

Oscar Burns:
Whoa, whoa, whoa, GC. Jamie, are you a hard care or are you munted? 

Jamie Sawyers:
I, uh… 

Oscar Burns:
I will give credit where credit is due, Jamie. Yes, Titaness is a great athlete. Gender doesn’t matter in DEFIANCE, she showed she’s a rising star you can’t ignore… but she and Uriel also showed why feelings and wrestling don’t mix. I wouldn’t quite say “run for my money” but she was feeling stroppy. But tonight, I was stroppier and that’s why I kept this… 

He holds up the Golden Shovel like the Master Sword unearthed from its rock. 

Jamie Sawyers:
And congratulations on that win. After rebounding from a loss to Dex Joy, where do you go from here?

It’s clear the loss still stings a bit… Burns’ smile disappears. When Jamie reads the room and realizes his line of questioning may not be the best, Oscar slaps his arm and gives him a soft chuckle. 

Oscar Burns:
I’m a bit of a dag, Jamie, I’m just pulling your leg. I wouldn’t hurt a fly unless it was standing across from me in MY DEFIANCE ring. Then I’d pull that leg and mangle it into submission  cause that’s my wrestling style. I’m not going to pack a sad about Dex Joy and that los… (visibly straining to say “loss”) …what happened at DEFCON, Jamie. My focus right now is helping to shape the present and future of DEFIANCE. We’re going on the road, Jamie! Our first stop… Houston, Texas! I get to go out there and feel the roar of the Oscar Burns Faithful all across this great US of A! And I don’t care who you are. Man, woman, binary, nonbinary, alien from outer space.  I am the greatest wrestler in DEFIANCE today and this is my… 

“PUTA!”

Oscar turns his gaze… then looks down to see none other than the third Los Tres Titanes member, Minute, staring right back.

Minute:
Crees que eres gracioso, perra? You think what you did to Titaness y Uriel was funny? 

The Keeper of the Golden Shovel tries to hide a smile… very badly. 

Oscar Burns:
Minute… pleasure to see you, GC. You’re one of my favorite DEFIANCE stars and I mean that. The things you do in that ring? Incredible. The size of your heart? Even more so. 

Minute cuts through the fake niceties and stands one step closer. 

Minute:
This rostert used to say same thing about you, amigo… then you became gilipollas. An asshole. 

The smile once again fades from Burns’ face. 

Minute:
Challenger? You want challenger, Oscar? I challenge you for esa estúpida pala dorada… and challenge you! In Houston, Texas! The first place I trained to wrestle when I moved to US! 

Oscar smiles, then turns to Jamie. 

Oscar Burns:
See, Jamie? He’s a wally. 

Then back to Minute.

Oscar Burns:
Minute… I accept your challenge. You know the drill. Ten minutes in the ring against me or if you… (hiding another smile) beat me… then this Golden Shovel is yours. But remember, it’s not easy. I AM DEFIANCE, Minute. 

The Most Interesting High Flyer in the World flashes a grin of his own under his mask. 

Minute:
You laugh, puta… but remember. When I was Unified Tag Team Champion and you challenged me… I. Pinned. You. 

Minute grins. Burns (yet again) does not.

Minute:
Nos vemos la semana que viene. 

Minute storms off, having the last word while Jamie looks at Burns for a retort. He gets nothing from the man who calls himself DEFIANCE but a cold shoulder as he stomps away from the set. 

Jamie Sawyers:
