The Last of Us (13)
Tyler just shook his head “no” at Conor and then motioned towards the representative.
“No problem, Mr. Sterritt.” Tyler calmly stated. “We were looking forward to meeting The Developer, but I understand.”
“Still kinda sucks he doesn’t want to meet us.” Conor muttered under his breath.
Sterritt smiled and placed a hand on Tyler’s shoulder. “Sorry to disappoint you on that regard, but I can assure you, the two of you would be a huge addition to the team.”
“Game, you mean game.” Conor mumbled to himself once again, correcting Bryan’s language.
“If you would both like to have a seat, we can get started.” The representative moved towards the office desk and proceeded to sit in the red leather chair. However, Tyler and Conor did not move from their respected positions.
Sterritt looked up, somewhat unsure of himself.
“Mr. Sterritt,” Tyler started, “we’ve actually looked through the instruction booklet, the gamer’s manual and online documentation of your system. We’re willing to play. No need to go over anything.”
Bryan took a moment to receive (and decode) what Tyler was telling him. Then he nodded and stood back up. “Great, that’s really great. With all those UTA wrestlers signed, our fans have been extremely disappointed. They were a terrible organization, albeit, ran by some people I’m not too fond of myself. But getting you guys from fWo – even if it’s been a while – I’m sure some of our hardcore Faithful will not only recognize you, but be fully supportive, too.”
“Gamers, not Faithful.” Conor once again muttered. He really didn’t like this guy.
“There should be a tremendous opportunity to sell merchandise, too. Save the Day, that was your slogan, correct?”
Tyler replied quickly. “It used to be. You can use it if you’d like. We’ll come up with others and pitch them to your marketing developers as well.”
Sterritt was beginning to like these guys more than he thought. “That’s just great. We can even work in some… how would you both say it… teasers to the audience before your debut.”
“Codes to the Gamers, codes to the Gamers.” Conor kept saying. It was a surprise neither Sterritt nor his brother could hear him.
“This is good.” Tyler confirmed. “Glad to see we’re on the same page.”
“On the same network, on the same network.” Now Conor was correcting his brother’s language.
Bryan dug into a nearby drawer and pulled out two clipboards.
“Then all we need to do is have you sign these.”
Tyler flipped back at Conor, whom was still in his trance.
