DEFIANCE star missed flight to Germany - Update on health

The AirBerlin 10:30 from Vienna to Dusseldorf found itself 260 lbs lighter today as Eugene Dewey missed his flight to the location of Saturday Night’s Grindhouse: Germany.
After being hospitalized by Dan Ryan at our show in Vienna, Austria, an action that has resulted in the indefinite suspension of the former two time FIST of DEFIANCE, Dewey’s condition worsened with the medical staff suspecting a Pnemothorax. Fortunately all tests and xrays came back negative, however the internal bleeding Dewey was suffering from persisted.
Over the weekend a series of blood tests were performed, all of which returned negative results, and yesterday a CT Scan of Dewey’s chest was taken. This CT scan finally revealed the cause of the bleeding to be a pulmonary contusion, or bruising of the lung itself.
Eugene’s doctor, Dr. Gerhard Winkler, spoke to me today about the latest results.
Now that we know what we’re dealing with we can monitor Mr. Dewey closely to ensure the contusion heals, however he’s not out of the woods yet. We believe the worst has passed, however many patients, especially at this time of year, can develop pneumonia following a bleed on their chest which increases healing time. Mr. Dewey will be kept under observation until we can be sure that he is healthy enough to leave the hospital.
I pressed Dr Winkler for an estimated discharge date for Eugene, and he had what I and may others consider bad news.
This is obviously a blow to the legions of Eugene’s fans expecting to see him face Bronson Box for the FIST of DEFIANCE on Saturday 1st February, but I’m sure they would all agree the healing of such a serious injury must always come first.
