Stockton Pyre Reacts to Recent Events!

What does Stockton Pyre think about the last two shows' worth of events and the state of the Southern Heritage title division?  Find out after the jump!

[We’re backstage at Guerrilla Grindhouse #15.  In the background are all the travel materials of the road lounging around, we see in the foreground of the shot one Stockton Pyre, his gaze pointed forward, with Lance Warner standing to his side.]

Lance Warner:
Ladies and gentlemen, this is a defiancewrestling.com exclusive interview with one of the participants in the highly controversial Battle Royal this evening, Stockton Pyre.  Stockton, thank you for taking the time to do this interview with me.

[Pyre nods.]

Lance Warner:
Before we talk specifically about the events tonight, I’d like to go back and talk about Guerrilla Grindhouse number 14, when you and Frank Holiday were forced to team up against two-thirds of the Legitimate Businessman’s Club, Alceo Dentari and Tony Di Luca.  During that match, you, perhaps somewhat infamously, slapped Frank Holiday in the chest and then left him high and dry to be pinned by Alceo and Tony.  Can you explain to me what happened out there?

Stockton Pyre:
I believe it was quite clear what happened out there that evening.  Frank Holiday didn't want me as a partner, so I gave him what he wanted. I thought he would have been happy that he finally got what he wanted, but it’s clear from the events of this past show that he hasn’t learned anything from that

Lance Warner:
What should he have learned?

Stockton Pyre:
Two things.  Number one, he should tend to his own business and leave things like the Southern Heritage title to those with the ability to get things done in DEFIANCE.

Lance Warner:
Like you?

Stockton Pyre:
Yes, like me.  Tony Two-Hands may hold that title, but he does so because I stopped Curtis Penn. He does so because I allowed it.  And when it is time for me to collect on that title, he will no longer hold it.

Lance Warner:
Rather bold words.  And the second thing Frank Holiday should have learned?

Stockton Pyre:
That he should be careful what he wishes for, because he just might get it.  Frank Holiday didn’t want any part of being on the same side as me, so I gave him what he wanted.  Now he wants to make an enemy of me due to his own warped perceptions.

He’s gotten what he wanted, Lance.

This thing between us...you can see where this is going.  I’m a top Southern Heritage competitor.  Mush for Brains wants to take me down.  He wants to take my spot.  A match between us was inevitable based on his forward trajectory.  But that’s all it was going to be...a match.

Until now.

Now, Frank has made this personal.  Not just the distraction this past show, Lance.  Not just the attitude problem at the last two shows, either.

I am many things, and compared to my brethern in this business, I am quite patent when it comes to the animalistic tripe that comes out of other wrestler’s mouths.

But.  You. Will.  Not.  Threaten. My.  Career.  Without. Consequences.

When we face each other...and believe me, it will happen...it will not just be a wrestling match.  It won’t just be a fight for contendership.

It will be personal.

I hope you’re happy.  You got what you wanted, tiger.

But be warned.  Playing with this fire won’t just burn you.

It will consume you.

Lance Warner:
All well and good, Stockton, but there’s one thing I feel the need to point out.  Wade Elliot is actually the top contender for the Southern Heritage Title, by virtue of Lindsay Troy’s win over Vincent Rinaldi on Guerilla Grindhouse 14.  She’s also personally mentioned you several times in the past.  Do you have any thoughts on the situation between the Big Damn Heroes and the Legitimate Businessman’s Club and how it affects your campaign to claim the Southern Heritage Title for your own?

[A thoughtful pause.]

Stockton Pyre:
These are lawless times, my dear broadcast journalist.  Hostile takeovers, Italian "businessmen" reneging on promises in increasingly creative ways, people calling themselves heroes using crafty backstage manipulation as their tools...it's all increasingly distasteful it you ask me.  I've not been here long but it seems like the Wild West, what with all the cowboys riding around and trying to stake claim to a piece of land that they think is theirs but really isn't.

I do not believe I can correct all the wrongs in this company that are being done, from the top of the office all the way down to the man who sweeps the arena floor.

But if someone wants to have my attention, as undivided as it can be while fending off the slobbering knuckle-dragger Frank Holiday, then all they would have to do is keep mentioning my name.

After all, I am watching.

I am always watching.

And regardless of how impressive her in-ring pedigree and performance is...regardless of how big the two dogs are that she leads around by the collar and leash...

The Burning Truth consumes all equally.

[It's at this point that Stockton walks away from Lance Warner.]

Lance Warner:
Well, there you have it.  Big statements from Stockton Pyre on many topics involved in the Southern Heritage title division.  The only question left will be what Frank Holiday, Tony Di Luca, and The Big Damn Heroes have to say about Pyre’s thoughts.
