Heidi Christenson on War Games, playoffs, more

Posted by Heidi Christenson on 2 Oct 2012

After Heidi Christenson's somewhat uncharacteristic actions on the Grand Champion Playoffs Round 1, Defiance decided to interview her.  Heidi is known for not caring to do interviews, but she did agree to discuss a few things with Christie Zane.

The interview is posted below.

Christie:
First, can you tell me what you thought about War Games?

Heidi:
You do remember I qualified for War Games, right?  And that I got removed from the arena so I couldn't participate?  Because of that, Cito had to wrestle for the first time in years himself, and he got hit with a chair.  You know what, I'm impressed with Claira and I'm proud of her and the guys on HERI, but I consider the entirety of War Games just another grievance to hold against Evolution League and anyone who would optionally side with it.

Christie:
Is that why you decided to attack Jimmy Kort before the match?

Heidi:
Among many others.

Christie:
Can you tell me anything about what Yoshikazu YAZ was saying to you?

Heidi:
I... don't know what he's talking about exactly, but I don't think it's a stretch to guess that he's saying Elijah Goldman is going to be a non-factor no matter what becomes of Defiance.  I have no idea why he wants me to try and win the Grand Champions League, and it's almost enough to make me stop and go home, because he's creepy and manipulative and I hate the feel of someone making me do something that I didn't choose to do on my own.

But throwing important matches and deliberately messing up a tournament is a whole lot worse than hurting Jimmy Kort's knee, and I was feeling reluctant to go through with that in the first place, I just thought it would be worth it to keep Goldman from owning Defiance.  But if Goldman's not going to matter, well...

Christie:
Tom Sawyer commented.

Heidi: [interrupting]
Tom Sawyer can fuck straight off.  I've been wrestling for 15 years and last time I checked he was eagerly awaiting the day his tag team partner backstabbed him so that they could feud and make up.

And my alignment has not been fluid.  I've spent probably less than one entire year as a bad guy, and part of that was trying to fit into Defiance in the first place.

Maybe Tom should stop being childish long enough to get an accurate idea of what being a paragon is, before he talks to me like he understands anything.

Christie:
Could I get your thoughts on the finals of the tournament?

Heidi:
Right now, if you look at Christian Light and Claira St. Sure, I don't think there's a wrestler in the world who could beat them in a handicap match.  But then, if they win Heritage wins and that's a pretty good consolation prize.  As for Alceo Dentari, all I've got to say about him for now is that if he makes it to the finals, he's going to regret making it to the finals one way or another.

TALKING DEF

"Calvin, the thing is…. Bandit? Seriously? Your masterstroke is Bandit? To be honest with you, I forgot ‘THE BANDIT’ was even in the Clan. I forgot completely. I was just about ready to ask Troy why the flute player from Jethro Tull was hangin’ around the group, and before I realized who it was, he was gone."
