[FADE-IN: as strolling through the doors at DEFIANCE Headquarters, JUSTIN VOSS, wearing a check shirt with the sleeves rolled to his elbows and a pair of khakis, gazes around the lobby looking for who he’s supposed to be looking for.  When he realises he has no idea at all what they look like, his arms just fall by his sides as he figures out his next move.]

JUSTIN VOSS:
“I should’ve asked him to wear a rose on his lapel or somethin’.”

VOICE: (off screen)
“Asked who?”

[VOSS turns to face the voice.  A man beams back at him with his hand stretched out for a shake.  It’s WYATT BRONSON.]

WYATT BRONSON:
“Hey.  Justin Voss, right?  Wyatt Bronson.”

VOSS:
“Pleased to meet you, man.  Thanks for havin’ me.”

BRONSON:
“Oh, it’s a pleasure.  You got some stuff to sign, I hear.  We could’ve sent it to ya.”

[VOSS shakes his head, looking around trying to soak in the scenery.]

VOSS:
“I wanted to get a feel for the joint.”

[Smiling to himself, BRONSON puts an arm over VOSS’ shoulders and leads him off down a hall.]

BRONSON:
“I hear ya, VossMan.”

[As the pair start heading down the hall, VOSS is stopped in the corridor by an intern who looks a little starstruck.]

INTERN:
“Hey... don’t I know you?”

[BRONSON smiles to himself and pats the kid on the shoulder.]

BRONSON:
“Ya should, son.  This is Justin Voss.”

[The INTERN turns to BRONSON, pointing at VOSS and speaking about him like he wasn’t even there.]

INTERN:
“Isn’t he the guy Jeff Andrews knocked out of the ULTRATITLE tournament?”

[BRONSON’s eyes widen as the words settle in his ear.  VOSS’ slight grin has twisted into a slight snarl as he stares a hole into the intern.  After letting the tension build for a moment, VOSS claps a hand on the kid’s shoulder, clearly forcing a smile.]

VOSS:
“That’s me, kid.  The one and only.  Jobber extraordinaire to YOUR DEFIANCE World Champion.  Shit... maybe I’ll be lucky enough Jeff'll kick my ass again one day.”

[Patting the kid on the back, VOSS walks off on him, silently calling for BRONSON to continue the tour of DEFIANCE.]

[It was foretold.  While VOSS was getting the clean slate he was looking for, to start afresh, there was one thing that hung over his head already in DEFIANCE before he could stand foot inside of their wrestling ring.]
