Not the kind of "what?" that represents miscomprehension, or the kind of "WHAT?!" that represents shock, fear, or anger.

The kind of "what." that comes from seeing, hearing, or otherwise witnessing something so mind-numbingly confusing, terrible, or horrifying that the mind fails to produce any other concious response.]

"Since I saw you'd aligned yourself with Kai Scott, that's all I have ever been able to say about you, Diane.

"What."

[Camera UP.]

[We're face-to-face with the Philosopher Kings, yet again.  Only this time, the one in the center isn't the enigmatic Eddie Dante; Troy Matthews stands in front of the rest of the Kings, his face carrying a blank expression, as if he were trying to come to grips with some awful truth.]

TROY:
Not that Kai would ever do anything like... that, but, well... then again.

[Troy winces in disgust.]

TROY:
I didn't really want to bring it up, but it's something that I'm a part of, too.  Remember when Jack and I beat the fuck out of YAZ at Trios Tag World, Diane?  Remember when we almost killed that son-of-a-bitch, and both of us agreed that we didn't the slightest tinge of regret for anything other than the fact that we didn't put him out of this business for good?

Remember when you, _AND_ Saori, _AND_ Alex stood in front of me and Jack, and gave us the riot act?  Screaming at us like a couple of parents who just saw little Jack and Davey beat the neighborhood bully within an inch of his life?
