Back in good ole Harlan Co. USA, Sam's trying to finish up his daily chores while Mr. Ellis watches him sweat his nuts off in the 90 degree heat. Sam heads into the barn and grabs the bucket full of pig slop.

"Boy oh boy, ya gotta chance ofa lifetime at Ev'lution TV at tha beginnin of tha month. Ya could be part of somethin called War Games if'n ya can beat ole Dragon Jones. If ya can litter'ly destroy him they'll have ta look at ya as a force ta rekon wiff." Mr. Ellis said.

Sam was too busy slopping the hog to really pay much attention to Mr. Ellis.

Sam continued on with his chores and kind of ignored Mr. Ellis, but in a way he was still listening to him babble on like a brook. Mr. Ellis talked non-stop unless he was driving, then he listened to Sam's not so favorite singers Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams Sr. Sam can handle Hank Jr. and Hank III, but Hank Sr. is just a little to country for him.

"Boy, I betcha can win all'em titles in Defi'nce. I bet wiff my genious an yer size an strength ya could be a champeen." Mr. Ellis said.

Sam was putting his gloves back in his back pocket as he'd finished his final chore.

"I jus dunno yet Mr. Ellis. I don thank I'm ret fer all them flashin lights an all them talkin thangs in front of tha camera. Ya knows I getta lil nerv'us when I gots ta talk ta that there cameraman." Sam replied.

However, Mr. Ellis had dollar signs in his eyes and he sure wasn't going to let Sam ruin what might be his big break.

"What's tha matt'r wiff ya dopey? If ya make it ta tha big matches an better opponents then ya gon get more money an respect, like Aretha Franklin sings bout. Don ya want any of'at?" Mr. Ellis asked.

Sam turned his back on Mr. Ellis and pondered for a moment on possibly making it to the highest echelon that he possibly could in Defiance Wrestling.

"Well..." Sam paused for a second. "I rekon I could use a lil more respect from er'body an ya know we needs tha money fer tha farm bills. So I guess I reelly could try ta win'at their match wiff Dragon Jones an enter'at ole War Games thang they's a havin soon." Sam replied with a small bit of tremble in his voice.

Sam stood there in the barn leaned on one of the horse stalls and staring off into the abyss known as space, actually he's staring into dark corner in the barn.

Sam could picture himself holding up a title, he could hear 'A Country Boy Can Survive' blaring over a PA system and he could feel the love from the crowd as they cheered him on.

"Ya know what Mr. Ellis, I rekon yer right. I could have respect from tha fans as well as tha other rasslers." Sam continued on.

A sly grin arose on Mr. Ellis's face as he thought about how much of a boost this would give his name. He could add more people to his label and he could add more dollar bills to his pocket.

"Boy, it could all work out. I rekon I we could make a killin at Defi'nce Rasslin an maybe round tha world even." Mr. Ellis said.

The thought of being that huge kind of didn't sit well with Sam. He knew he could work on smaller independent shows around KY, TN, VA and WV. However that really wasn't the point. The point is that he's a small town boy in a world full of big cities and the thought of him being around talent from around the world made his anxiety start to act up.

"Yea, I rekon yer right Mr. Ellis. It reelly could be sumthin." Sam responded solemnly.

The two walked in the house as Mr. Ellis was still in Sam’s ear telling how good he is and how much better Defiance is with him than without him.
