The nights dew has already fallen on this old Kentucky home down Turner Lane. Big Sam and Susan are fast asleep dreaming rich farmland. Sam Jr. on the other hand is up in his lift with the light in and the fan blowing full blast.

"Ateteen, nih'teen, an twen'y." He finished up his rep of twenty sit-ups. The big oaf's trying to get his weight down to be a split second faster for the match at Ascension. "I got 'is, I'm gunna win 'at belt er die tryin."

The flashbacks start to cloud his mind of all his previous failures. Losing to Tucker G. Alston on Retaliation 4 was horrid for Sam, due to it being Tucker's debut. Then the same night he loses the Battle Royale due to Tucker tossing him over the top rope. Next on Defiance TV 036 he was pinned by Chance Von Crank during a four-way match, which also featured Tucker and Lash Graham. Defiance 038, brought back Sam Jr. vs Tucker, in which Tucker choked him out. The straw that really broke the camel’s back was having to actually team with Tucker and take on Curtis Penn and Jamie Murray, while it was a win, Tucker unfortunately scored the pin fall.

Now back to reality and out of the gear grinding mind of Sam Jr.

"One, two...one, two...one, two..." He huffed as he punched the old feed sack hung from the rafters, as worked on his hand eye coordination.

As Sam continued to work out he heard a loud pop from out in the yard. He sprinted quickly from the feed sack and hustled to the door. He looked out the door and saw nothing but a sign stuck in the driveway.

Sam stepped out from around the corner and kept his head on swivel making sure to stay aware of his surroundings. He walks up to the sign and sees a blank side. He reaches down and flips it over.

"Whaht tha heck!" He murmured to himself.

The sign read '#TEEMCVC'.

Sam thinks to himself. 'Why would 'ey do at ta my yard. 'Em people jus tryin ta press ma butt'ns an whatnot. I rekon we dun split Harlan Co. right down tha line.'

He wrinkles up the sign and walks over to the garbage can and tosses it in.

As he heads back into the barn he hears a twig snap. Just as he turns to see if anything was there he splashed by some kind of liquid. It’s in his eyes and mouth. He can't see what's going on.

He continues to wipe his eyes as hard as he can to clear his vision. He starts walking forward trying to grab at anything he can, but he can't reach anything.

"This is it Sam, Chance rules Harlan Co. and you'll never take his title." A voice yells out.

"Yeah Sam, you're a low class piece of..."

BOOM! BOOM!

Shotgun shells rang through the night, and the noise of people running could also be heard down their dirt and rock driveway.  Sam Sr. had heard the commotion and grabbed his gun to see what was going on and found two CVC fans attacking his son.

Sam walks over to the porch by his dad, after he got his eyes wiped out.

“Boy ‘is rasslin crap dun gots real ain’t it.” Sam Sr. said as he lifted the barrel of his shotgun towards his shoulder and stepped off the front porch.

“Yea I know paw, I ain’t thinkn it’d ev’r get like ‘is. Can ya bel’eve all tha Harlan Co. support ‘at ole Chance is getting? ‘Is is jus craziness paw.” Sam Jr. said as he continued to wipe the paint off his face.

Sam Sr. walked over to where Sam was drenched with paint. He got down on one knee and examined the paint.

“Boy, ‘ese fella’s gots a hard-on fer Chance. ‘Ey dun throw’d or’nge and purp’l paint on ya. ‘Ey’s tryin ta send ya a message er sumthin.” Sam Sr. said as he shook his head. “Junior, get in ‘ere and start cleanin yaself off. We’ll deal wiff ‘is paint stuff in tha morning.”

Sam Jr. nodded his head and turned towards the door to go in.

“I bet Chance don paid ‘em boys ta do ‘at.” Sam Jr. said as he turned slightly towards his dad before going in to get cleaned up.
