DEFIANCE Wrestling invades Atlanta's Tabernacle for a night of THREE big Main Events!
DEFLIVE003 - Atlanta, GA; The Tabernacle
March 26, 2016
Attendance: 995
DEFIANCE invaded Atlanta’s Tabernacle for a big Triple Main Event show! The Fist of DEFIANCE, Dan Ryan, was on hand for a pre-show meet and greet along with former DEFIANCE Trios Championship partner, Lindsay Troy, who was scheduled to compete later in the Main Event.
Tyrone Walker was also scheduled to appear, but was sidelined by the vicious attack by Omega at DEFIANCE #63, Levi Cole would take his place in the Six-Man tag team Co-Main Event..
The ring was pushed right against the edge of the stage with fans filling the other three sides and portions of the balcony. The DEF arena bells and whistles were on hand with two large video screens on the stage on either side of the entrance curtain. A special “throne” of sorts also sat upon the stage for the DEFIANCE HBIC, Kelly Evans, who opened the show welcoming herself back to Atlanta, the site of many victories of Team Danger’s past.
[1] Jake Donovan defeated Sho Nakazawa by pinfall at 13:31 following a Phoenix Splash.
-
A spirited opening contest, Donovan and Nakazawa battled back and forth for control, trading offense and counters at a break-neck speed.
-
Nakazawa stunned the crowd when, after being thrown over the top rope and onto the stage, he returned by running the length of the stage and diving over the top rope, catching Donovan with a stunning hurricanrana!
[2] The Strong Style Stranglers [Ridgway & Hart & Brody] defeated the Dark Riders [King & Flagg] and “Silent Butcher” Koji Iwata by pinfall at 15:11 after Ridgway and Hart drove King through a table with a spiked piledriver.
-
“Hardcore” is putting it lightly with what these six men displayed. A brawl from start to finish, weapons were introduced early with the insane import from Japan, Iwata, clearing the ring swinging his flaming barbed-wire bat wildly.
-
Battling their way through the main floor bar, Brody tore a bar mirror clean off the wall and smashed it over Iwata’s head!
[3] Felton Bigsby defeated J.J Dixon by Knockout/Referee stoppage at 6:01 after the East Texas Stampede followed by repeated stomps to the head.
-
Felton Bigsby once again unleashed his rage on his opponent, this time refusing to stop the beating until several officials dragged him from the ring.
-
Following the match, Bigsby stood on the stage, accused Kelly Evans and the Atlanta crowd of racism and repeatedly slammed a chair into one of the video screens, destroying it!
[4] Sam Horry & El Habañero defeated The Gentleman’s Agreement [Lord Sewell & Oliver Tarquin Monroe] at 13:25 when Horry submitted Monroe with a Dragon Sleeperhold.
-
Sam Horry teamed with the youngster he defeated at the last DEFLIVE, El Habañero, taking him under his wing.
-
The Gentleman’s Agreement controlled most of the match, isolating El Habañero in their corner, and grinding him down. Finally able to break free, El Habañero scrambled to his corner and brought in the red-hot Horry, who took control and took out both members of The Gentleman’s Agreement.
[5] Bronson Box defeated Howlin’ Joe Wolfe at 19:01 by submission when Box submitted Wolfe with the Boston Massacre. The ruling was overturned to a Disqualification Victory for Wolfe when Box refused to release the hold.
-
The surly Scot and the wild youngster collided in a fast-paced, hard-hitting affair that saw both men throwing wild punches to start the match off.
-
Bronson Box brought the Atlanta crowd to their feet when, after the brawl spilled to the stage, he gained control and nearly crippled Joe Wolfe with a Bombasto Bomb off of the stage and onto the upright guardrail, sending Wolfe crashing down onto the steel on his neck!
-
Box locked in the Boston Massacre, wrenching back on Wolfe’s injured neck, for the win. Box refused to release the hold, however, forcing referee Benny Doyle to overturn the decision and award the match to Joe Wolfe via disqualification.
-
This absolutely enraged the “Original Defiant”, attacking Doyle and flattening him with a vicious right hand! Turning his attention back to the downed Wolfe, Box put the boots to him until Dusty Griffith appeared to a thunderous roar from the crowd and cleared Box from the ring with a big clothesline over the ropes! The two exchanged words as Box retreated to the locker room.
[6] Levi Cole and The Nightmare Express [Alex Graves & Jack Savage] defeated The Angel City eXXXpress [Flex Krueger & Don Hollywood & Rich Mahogany] at 10:07 when No Justice, No Peace [Felton Bigsby & Big Rosey & Sylvester Foxx] interfered.
-
Levi Cole stepped in for the injured Tyrone Walker to team with the massive Nightmare Express. The All-American and the two monsters seemed to be playing a game of one-upmanship, bouncing Rich Mahogany around the ring with big power moves.
-
Before the ACX could rally and show any kind of offense, the match came to a screeching halt when Felton Bigsby stormed the ring, leading Sylvester “Slyy” Foxx and the enormous Big Rosey, and attacked Cole and the NMX!
-
With Brother Lucius screaming orders from the stage, repeatedly challenging Kelly Evans to do anything, No Justice, No Peace delivered a vicious beating to Levi Cole capped off by a second-rope splash by Big Rosey!
[7] Lindsay Troy defeated Andy Sharp by submission at 35:15 with the Divine Right.
-
Lindsay Troy and Andy Sharp absolutely tore the roof off of the Tabernacle. This match had everything, chain wrestling, high risk aerial attacks, wild brawling, Tony Danza.
- Lindsay Troy persevered after a wildly competitive matchup when Andy Sharp, failing to secure the pinfall after two previous All-Star Frog Splashes, went for the kill one more time only to have Troy roll out of the way of the impact and roll right back to secure the Divine Right for the victory!
