Tap, tap, tap went the sound of wrestling boots coming closer to them. The figure in the distance got bigger and more visible.

“Do we have something to protect ourselves with?” Conor asked. “Anything?”

Tyler scurried around his pockets and then took the backpack off his arm. He looked inside it but found nothing of importance.

It didn’t matter, however. Conor had taken cover and abandoned his brother. He went back down the hallway they came, forcing Tyler to go after him and away from the figure that was walking their way.

Tap, tap, tap. The figure moved past. Meanwhile, Tyler smacked Conor upside the head. As you can tell, this would be a common theme.

“No one from UTA is here. There’s nothing to worry about.”

“You mean I won’t get infected?”

Tyler shook his head. “No, not now anyway. Besides, I’m pretty sure we’re immune. They don’t want us.”

Conor took some time to think of this and then agreed with Player One. “Yeah, you’re probably right. Okay, let’s go.”

And as the two of them went back to where they came, Conor rolled through more questions.

“Hey, do you think they’ll infect Impulse?”

“No, too pure a player.”

“Douglas?”

“No, same as Impulse.”

“What about Cayle?”

“No. However, Andy Murray is interesting. One brother being infected and fighting the other, it’s typical in our wrestling system to happen every now and again. Definitely when there are two players sharing the same code, too.”

As they vanished down the hall, Conor could be seen contemplating these thoughts.

“Hm. Interesting. Maybe one day I’ll get infected and turn on you.”

“No.”

“Why not?”

“Too stupid.”

Conor simply nodded in agreement.
